Surprisingly, until recently, Left 4 Dead was almost the only game of its kind (except for the sequel, of course). Despite the tremendous success of Valve , no one tried to develop his ideas for a long time. The first sign was the new project of the young studio Overkill Software called Payday: The Heist . What happened - a successful rethinking of the concept or a useless clone? Play best Y8 Games at the http://www.y8games.center/ website.

The main characters of Payday could easily become the most dangerous enemies in some SWAT 4. Four criminals in clown masks in crowds mow out special forces, police, FBI officers and do not even think of giving up. We will find ourselves in their shoes in order to participate in six impudent robberies. The goal is simple - to break through the battle with law enforcement defenders, taking with them a couple of million dollars, a dozen gold bars or other value.

The passage of each campaign is reduced to the performance of certain tasks. For example, while one player glues explosives to the wall to provide the team with a escape route, the rest should cover it. In another situation, you must install a drill on the lock of a bank vault or get to the rescue helicopter. Sleeping in a cozy closet is not easy - drills need to be restarted, opponents are actively using smoke grenades, and sometimes we get into the load stupid NPCs, which must be accompanied by pressing a key.

So that novice bandits do not get bored, adventure scenarios are diversified by a colleague of the "director" from L4D . The familiar technology juggles the necessary objects and characters to complete the task, placing them at different points, and also knows how to seal or, conversely, open additional routes.

The influence of "randomness" and subject to raids. This is especially noticeable in the case of the "bosses", the place of occurrence of which can only be guessed. Yes, as in Left 4 Dead, there are few, but extremely dangerous opponents. The thick-skinned “bulldozer” goes ahead, ignoring the bullets that scratch the armor. A fighter armed with a taser is able to immobilize a criminal in a matter of seconds. A commando with a night vision device puts the player on the shoulder blades with the first blow. Well, in order to cope with an opponent defending the shield, coordinated actions are needed - while one distracts attention to himself, someone must go behind and let go of the line in the back.

Unlike the more or less smart "bosses", ordinary rivals think a little better than zombies, even though they know where the machine has a trigger. Dummies do not burden their gray cells with cunning tactics and simply take numbers. Sometimes artificial intelligence frankly fails - more than once I had to observe how a brave cop played peepers with my hero or even turned away in a pointed manner. The authors compensated for the deficit of convolutions with the help of the law with phenomenal accuracy, so we just have to carefully set the “headshots” and rest behind the shelters.

What the brainchild of Overkill is definitely not to blame, because it is in the same type of locations. A slaughterhouse, a bank, a lair for drug dealers, a skyscraper, a bridge heavily rained with rain, and the streets of the city - all campaigns are quite unusual and look as beautiful as a modest budget allows. Yes, and they go in different ways: on some cards you need to persistently move forward, while on others - snarl back fire and not protrude.

Return to Paydayover and over again causes the presence of several levels of difficulty. A calm walk on the Easy here is fundamentally different from the furious passage on the Overkill. If in the first case, after five minutes of tedious battles, the eyes stick together, then in the second one can not be distracted even for a second, and any mistake is fraught with defeat. Here, by the way, it becomes possible to pick up an arsenal and equipment, such as a bag with cartridges or a first-aid kit, before a fight. Participants in the robbery begin to think about tactics, share roles - while two hold the front door, armed with shotguns, the third covers them from the second floor, and the fourth monitors the hacking process and, if necessary, provides ammunition. And it’s possible to calm down only when each scenario is completed at maximum difficulty at least once.

In addition, I ’d like to stay longer in The Heist thanks to the “pumping”. The maximum level is attention! - one hundred forty-fifth. Moreover, experience is gaining quickly, and something new becomes available after each increase. The rewards for the efforts are surprisingly varied - and an increase in all kinds of characteristics such as body armor strength, and "guns", and passive skills. All this wealth is divided into three categories, but there are no tricks here - no one forbids gradually investing in everything at once.

It is impossible to die in The Heist - if the disabled character is not raised within thirty seconds, he will only be arrested. The remaining repeat offenders can either wait a few minutes before the “amnesty”, or pull out an accomplice, freeing the hostage.

But still, whatever one may say, Payday: The Heist runs out of breath quickly. Sooner or later, you will master the most intense episodes on Overkill - and the game will become boring. The problem is that there is no competitive regime that significantly extended the life of the repeatedly mentioned Left 4 Dead . However, for ten not the most boring hours Payday fully fulfills the money spent. In extreme cases, you can always wait for discounts - Steam does not skimp on sales.

Pros: perky cooperative; "Pumping".
Cons: primitive artificial intelligence; mediocre graphics; Fun enough for a month.
